World number one Aryna Sabalenka believes top players will boycott a Grand Slam "at some point" because of the ongoing dispute over prize money. The Australian Open champion joins a growing chorus of players expressing frustration with the sport's major tournaments over compensation.

Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek prefers continued negotiations over extreme action. "I think the most important thing is to have proper communication and discussions with the governing bodies so we have some space to talk and maybe negotiate," the Polish star said. "But boycotting the tournament, it's a bit extreme kind of situation."

Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina said she would support a boycott if the majority of players backed it. However, world number five Jessica Pegula, a leading advocate for the players' campaign, virtually ruled out strike action. "We love playing the Slams - I don't think anyone's going to strike against the Slams," she told BBC Sport in Indian Wells.
