George Russell is hopeful that Mercedes has resolved the power unit issues that hampered his performance at the Belgian Grand Prix. He believes a software glitch impacted his car's straight-line speed and race start, contributing to his difficult weekend and eventual retirement after contact with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton.

"We're pretty confident we've got on top of the issues that we had in Spa and it should be easy to resolve," Russell stated. The team has been working to pinpoint the problem, and Russell feels they have found the necessary 'clues' to fix it. He described the season as the "toughest psychological battle" due to its inconsistency, but remains optimistic about his title chances and aims to regain the momentum he felt before Silverstone and Spa.

Russell is looking forward to the Hungarian Grand Prix, a track where he has achieved success, including a pole position and two podiums. He acknowledges that Ferrari will be competitive there due to its less power-sensitive nature, and with Kimi Antonelli performing strongly, it will not be a straightforward weekend. However, Russell is excited for the challenge and believes the championship is far from over.
