Formula 1 is in discussions with Malaysian Grand Prix organizers about a potential return to the calendar as a replacement race. The Sepang Circuit is being considered for an October 4 slot, bridging the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the Singapore Grand Prix.

This consideration arises due to escalating conflicts in the Middle East, which have impacted previous plans to reinstate the Bahrain Grand Prix. Sepang organizers had previously expressed interest in hosting a Grand Prix.

The possibility of the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix not proceeding also influences F1's decision-making. The last Malaysian Grand Prix was held in 2017. Drivers like George Russell have expressed enthusiasm for a fuller season, welcoming potential additions to the schedule.
