Caleb Williams addressed the NFL's $35,823 fine for unauthorized Caddix cleats by wearing an all-black pair during the Chicago Bears' 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. The quarterback wore the matte black cleats to eliminate distractions for the team, stating he wanted to 'calm things down.' Caddix CEO Jack Rasmussen confirmed the company will pay the fines for Weeks 6 and 7. Williams had previously worn an all-white version of the cleats that did not clearly show the logo.
Coach Ben Johnson praised Williams' focus on the team, noting he would not hurt the team with uniform violations.
