England’s top women’s rugby stars will earn a £100,000 bonus if they defend the 2029 World Cup, bolstering a new four‑year pay structure. The Rugby Football Union lifted contracts by 25%, offering a base of around £50,000 plus a £20,000 win bonus.

The deal follows England’s eight‑year Six Nations streak and 38‑match Test run, underscoring the team’s dominance. Despite the raise, players still trail football and cricket counterparts, whose contracts range from £90,000 to £130,000.

Contracts split into three bands, with senior players receiving the highest pay, and vary from one to three years. A guaranteed minimum of 32 contracts ensures depth, while transitional deals keep emerging talent on track.

Captain Meg Jones said the investment signals a commitment to both present success and a stronger pipeline for future generations. The agreement marks the first negotiated by Team England Rugby, shifting from the Rugby Players Association.
