South African all-rounders Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk helped London Spirit Women secure their first win of The Hundred season, inflicting a maiden defeat on Trent Rockets with a five-wicket triumph at Trent Bridge. Kapp recorded figures of 3-12 from 20 balls, conceding her first run off the bat only on her 11th delivery, as Rockets posted 142-7; England off-spinner Charlie Dean took 2-18 and home captain Ash Gardner top-scored with 34.

Spirit wobbled from 55-0 to 67-4 after Grace Harris (37 off 20) departed, but De Klerk (41* off 22), backed by Marie Kelly (39), sealed victory with three balls to spare, hitting the winning six off Georgia Adams. De Klerk struck two fours and three sixes, including a maximum off a Gardner full toss.

The away side bounced back from an opening defeat to Manchester Super Giants where they were bowled out for 80, while Rockets couldn't build on their nine-wicket thrashing of Birmingham Phoenix. In the other women's match, Super Giants and Phoenix were thwarted by rain at Emirates Old Trafford with no play possible.
