Formula 1 has announced its 2027 calendar and an increase in the number of Sprint weekends from six to 10, with the season starting in Bahrain.

For a fourth consecutive year, there are 24 rounds scheduled with Portugal's Portimao and Turkey's Istanbul Park returning to the calendar. As expected, the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort falls off the schedule while the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya moves into a rotational deal with Spa-Francorchamps that will see the Spanish event held in even numbered years from 2028 and the Belgian Grand Prix held in odd numbered years from 2027.

Bahrain will host a four-day pre-season test on February 24-27 before holding the March 12-14 season-opener, a Sprint weekend, with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix a week later. Australia reverts to the third round in early April and will also host a Sprint, as will the next race in Japan before China rounds off a triple-header. Miami retains its slot in the first weekend of May before Sprint rounds in Canada and, for the first time, Monaco. The returning Portuguese Grand Prix slots into mid-June and is followed by a Sprint weekend at the British Grand Prix on July 2-4, with Austria moving to after Silverstone.

A Sprint round at Monza in early September will be the first event back after five weeks off, with the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid a week later. Azerbaijan, Turkey and Singapore form part of a triple-header before the usual Americas triple-header in Austin, Mexico and Brazil, which is a Sprint weekend. Las Vegas will host the only Saturday race of 2027, then two Sprint weekends in Qatar and Abu Dhabi on December 10-12 conclude the season. Stefano Domenicali said the calendar brings together iconic circuits and vibrant cities and expands Sprint racing to 10 events.
