Britain's Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson narrowly missed out on a World Championships bronze medal after receiving a two-point penalty in the ice dance competition. The British pair finished fourth with 208.98 points, just 0.22 points behind bronze medalists Zingas and Kolesnik who scored 209.20.

Olympic champions Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry dominated the event, winning gold with 230.81 points and a record-breaking 19.29-point margin over the field. Canada's Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier claimed silver, adding to their Milan-Cortina 2026 bronze medal. The French duo became only the fourth pair to achieve Olympic, world and European titles in the same season.

This marks another near-miss for Fear and Gibson, who also missed Olympic medals last month due to a costly error in their free dance routine. Earlier in the championships, US star Ilia Malinin secured his third consecutive men's gold, bouncing back from his Olympic disappointment where he fell twice in the free skate.
