England prospect Davina Perrin said she remembered she has "got the shots" after returning from injury. The 19-year-old struck 52 from 43 deliveries in Birmingham Phoenix's 24-run defeat by Southern Brave on Thursday, her second match back after a month on the sidelines.

Perrin was touted for England recognition last season after hammering the fastest century in the history of the women's Hundred, a 43-ball 101 for Northern Superchargers in the eliminator match. "It's my first like proper injury so there's so much learnings from it," she said. She sought advice from former England wicketkeeper Sarah Taylor, who told her: "don't try and be the player that you were before, be the player that you are now... a reminder to be fearless, you've got the shots."

Perrin was the first player drawn at the inaugural Hundred auction in March, joining Phoenix for £50,000 having played the previous two seasons for Superchargers. She also signed for Big Bash League franchise Melbourne Renegades last season but averaged 9.60 from five matches. After averaging 40.50 in seven matches in this season's One-Day Cup for Warwickshire, injury limited her to one T20 Blast fixture.

She was dropped three times by Brave before being caught by Maia Bouchier off the bowling of Sarah Glenn. Perrin uses her 2025 century as confidence: "When you have an innings like that behind you, it's also a nice gentle reminder that you're not awful at cricket. It's a sign of my ceiling and I'd love to like exceed that someday."
