Bradford City forward Nick Powell has revealed he was planning to retire at age 31 but is now delighted he extended his playing career. The 32-year-old signed a new one-year deal in August and has scored four substitute goals this season for the League One leaders.

Powell says he is content with his role and wants to play as many games as possible before he eventually retires, even if he must continue coming off the bench. He believes he can change the game in just 30 minutes and has no issues with being a substitute.

Manager Ian Henderson praised Powell's impact, noting he won't always be a sub. Powell admitted some of his past injuries were self-inflicted due to poor body management early in his career, but he's now enjoying every moment on the pitch regardless of his role.
