Tottenham Hotspur secured the future of their rising right‑back Pedro Porro with a new long‑term deal that runs until 2031. The 26‑year‑old had two years left on his 2023 contract after a permanent switch from Sporting CP. Spurs had first signed him on loan in January 2023 with a £40 million obligation to keep him anchored as they chase European glory.

Porro has already made 152 appearances for Spurs, including 47 in all competitions last season, the most in De Zerbi's squad. His rapid rise earned him a spot in Spain's 2026 World Cup squad, where he will face Cape Verde in Atlanta. Spurs' sporting director Johan Lange praised his progress, calling him “one of the best full‑backs in the game” during this.

De Zerbi highlighted Porro's technical skill and mentality, noting his daily hunger to improve. The Spaniard brings intelligence, energy, intensity and personality to the defence, making him indispensable in a squad built for top‑level competition. Extending his contract secures a key defensive pillar as Spurs aim to strengthen their roster for the Premier League and European campaigns and maintaining long‑term ambitions thereby.

By locking Porro in until 2031, Tottenham signals confidence in a player who has grown into a cornerstone of their defensive line. The contract extension also sends a message to rivals that Spurs are committed to building a squad capable of competing for domestic and continental honours. With Porro set for international duty, the club can now focus on assembling the rest of its dream team for the season ahead.
