De Zerbi Urges Spence to Stay Amid £237m Spurs Rebuild

Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi wants to convince England defender Djed Spence to stay at the club amid interest from Inter Milan and Everton. The 25-year-old started 23 of 30 Premier League games last season but faces competition from Pedro Porro, whom De Zerbi calls the "best in the world" at right-back.

Spurs have spent a club-record £237m this summer after narrowly avoiding relegation, signing Mateus Fernandes (£85m), Sandro Tonali (£100m), and Jan Paul van Hecke (£52m), plus free transfers Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson, and Martin Dubravka. Captain Cristian Romero and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario are expected to depart.

De Zerbi says the rebuild is "60% complete" and promises another "bomba" signing, targeting Manchester City's Savinho and another attacker. "We have to increase the number of goals," he said, describing his transfer approach as being like a "shark."
