Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven is reportedly close to agreeing a new five-year contract with the club. Van de Ven expressed optimism about the club's recent changes and renewed ambition, stating, "It's really good that you can see the club has made some changes. You can see the club has a new ambition."

Following two consecutive seasons finishing 17th in the Premier League, with their top-flight status secured only on the final day of the 2025-2026 campaign, Van de Ven is looking forward to a fresh start. After a challenging period that saw three managerial changes, he anticipates a more positive future under the new regime.

Van de Ven believes the upcoming season will be markedly different, especially with a more offensive style of play. "It's going to be different compared to the manager we had last season," he remarked. "It's also going to be more enjoyable for people to watch because we'll be playing offensive football. It is something we needed because everybody was a little bit down."
