Benfica president Rui Costa launched a scathing attack on the officials, claiming Famalicao were unfairly awarded a penalty and their second goal came from "a corner which wasn't a corner." The Portuguese Association of Football Referees will file a complaint against Costa's comments. Mourinho, also unhappy with the officiating, said the match was "a good reflection of what has happened in this championship."

The draw leaves Benfica just three points ahead of Sporting, who have a game in hand and superior goal difference. A Bola reported Benfica had "gifted" rivals Porto 12 points throughout the season, letting leads slip in six of their 10 draws. Despite the title collapse, Record reports Benfica will offer Mourinho a new contract this week.
