Identical twins Abigail and Emily Roper made history for Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow by each securing bronze medals within hours of each other. Abigail claimed her bronze in the women's vault, finishing one place ahead of her sister Emily. Later that afternoon, Emily earned her own bronze medal on the uneven bars.

"I can't even put into words how crazy it is," said Abigail, expressing her disbelief at winning a medal in her first major tournament final. Emily shared her sister's excitement, noting the challenge of recovering from a disappointing fourth-place finish in the vault to achieve her own medal on the bars. "It was about doing my own thing on the bars and this result was just amazing," Emily stated.

This achievement adds to Wales' medal tally at the Games, which now stands at six medals, comprising five bronze and one silver. Australian Kate McDonald won gold in the vault, and Canadian Ellie Black secured silver.
