Michail Antonio Driving Ban: Lamborghini Speeding Case

Former Premier League striker Michail Antonio has been found guilty of failing to tell police who was driving his Lamborghini when it was caught speeding in Birmingham last March. The car was traveling at an average of 50mph in a 40mph zone on Lee Bank Middleway and Belgrave Middleway. The 36-year-old Jamaica international was absent from Birmingham Magistrates' Court when the verdict was delivered.

Antonio already has six points on his licence after crashing a Ferrari into a tree in December 2024, an incident that left him in hospital for three weeks. He now faces a further six penalty points for failing to notify police of the driver's identity, which would trigger a disqualification. Prosecutors offered no evidence on the speeding charge itself. A letter requesting information was sent to his Beaconsfield home three days after the car was clocked speeding, but magistrates heard there was no response.

The former West Ham forward, who now plays for a club in the Qatar Stars League, is due to be sentenced on 19 June at Birmingham Magistrates' Court. He also faces a separate prosecution from the Metropolitan Police over allegations of failing to identify the driver of a Lamborghini involved in an incident on Pall Mall last November, with that case adjourned to 7 July.
