Everton have agreed to sign Finland international striker Jutta Rantala from Leicester City. Leicester have confirmed Rantala has a year left on her contract, so Everton are expected to pay a fee for the 26‑year‑old. BBC Sport reported earlier that the clubs had already negotiated during the summer, after Noemie Mouchon and Hannah Cain moved to Merseyside. Rantala has netted 13 goals in 48 appearances for Leicester since joining from Swedish club Vittsjo GIK in 2023. She was the club’s player of the season and top scorer in 2023‑24, but a knee injury hampered her following campaign. Internationally, she has 10 goals from 36 caps and was part of Finland’s squad at Euro 2025. Her arrival makes the sixth Leicester exit this summer, following the club’s relegation from the Women’s Super League in June. Everton aim to build on a season that finished eighth after the departure of manager Brian Sorensen; Scott Phelan was named his permanent successor and four new signings have been made.

The transfer underscores Everton’s ambition to strengthen their attacking options and challenge for higher league positions.
