Wales forward Hannah Cain has re-signed for Everton following the expiry of her contract with Leicester City. The 27-year-old signed her first professional contract with the Toffees in July 2018, spending two years on Merseyside before moving to the Foxes.

Capped 26 times by Wales, Cain scored the crucial goal against the Republic of Ireland to send the Red Dragons women's team to their first major tournament – going on to score against England at the 2025 European Championships.

"I am over the moon to be back," Cain told evertontv. "Goodison is such an amazing place and it is nice to finally be in it as a home team player. I signed my first professional contract at Everton, so it is a full-circle moment for me. Having Goodison as our home shows how far the game has come."

Cain left Leicester City in June after their relegation from the Women's Super League.
