Everton has secured the signing of Australian striker Holly McNamara on a free transfer. The 23-year-old arrives from Melbourne City, whose contract for the striker has expired. McNamara is a two-time winner of the Golden Boot in Australia's A-League, and Everton reportedly fended off interest from numerous top clubs across Europe and the United States.

McNamara becomes Everton's fourth summer acquisition, joining Noemie Mouchon, Hannah Cain, and Zara Kramzar. Expressing her excitement, McNamara stated, "It is unreal to be here. Goodison Park is such a special stadium. I am very lucky to be here." She cited Everton's "rich history," "great ambitions," and "great project" as key factors in her decision, alongside the opportunity to compete in what she considers "the best league in the world."

In 2022, McNamara was recognized as the A-League's young player of the year and was part of the Australia squad that reached the final of the Women's Asian Cup. She will don the number nine shirt for Everton.
