Tottenham have secured Slovak keeper Martin Dubravka on a free transfer once his Burnley contract expires on July 1. The 37‑year‑old, who featured in 35 Premier League games for the Clarets last season, joins De Zerbi’s side as their fourth summer acquisition after defenders Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and the £52m signing of Jan Paul van Hecke. The veteran praised the fans and aims to win the starting spot.

Dubravka arrives with 197 Premier League appearances and 51 clean sheets, offering experience that Tottenham lack after back‑to‑back 17th‑place finishes. His arrival follows Newcastle’s rejection of an £80 million bid for Sandro Tonali and lingering uncertainty over Italy keeper Guglielmo Vicario’s future, leaving the Spurs goalkeeping hierarchy wide open. His experience offers a safety net for Spurs, who have conceded 71 goals, the league’s second‑worst tally.

De Zerbi praised Dubravka’s mentality, saying the veteran will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to the dressing room. With young Antonin Kinsky having finished the season as number one after a dramatic save against Leeds, the new signing creates healthy competition and gives Spurs a proven shot‑stopper as they aim to improve their defensive record this campaign. The club expects his presence to tighten the defence.
