Aberdeen's Peter Leven has departed the club after serving as caretaker manager on three separate occasions. The Scottish Premiership side confirmed his exit as part of the natural transition when a new head coach arrives. Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel praised Leven's dedication, calling him a 'terrific servant' who stepped up when the club needed him most.

Leven first took temporary charge after Barry Robson's sacking, managing one game before reverting to first-team coach. He later served as interim manager during the appointment of Jimmy Thelin and again this season after Thelin's departure. Tony Docherty, who returned to help Leven, also left last week.

In total, Leven managed 24 games for Aberdeen, winning nine and losing ten, with eight defeats coming in the current campaign. His departure marks the end of a versatile career at Pittodrie that saw him adapt to various roles as the club navigated coaching changes. The timing aligns with the club's shift toward new leadership under their latest head coach.
