Aberdeen Manager Search Nears Shortlist Phase

Aberdeen's search for a new manager is narrowing, with sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel saying a shortlist will be finalized within days. The club parted ways with Jimmy Thelin earlier this month after 18 months in charge.

The Dons have struggled since Thelin's exit, winning just one of their last six league games. Peter Leven is serving as interim manager during the transition. Pfannenstiel emphasized that while Scottish experience is helpful, it isn't required.

Pfannenstiel said the club wants a leader who can inspire young players and bring both tactical clarity and strong personality. Upcoming matches against Livingston and Kilmarnock are seen as essential for maintaining momentum.
