Bain Capital has agreed to acquire Vitabiotics, the UK's leading vitamins and supplements business, in a move aimed at accelerating its international growth. The deal encompasses Vitabiotics' UK operations and the wider VB Group, including Meyer Organics in India and its African operations. While financial terms were undisclosed, The Times estimated the company's value at approximately £900m. The acquisition will be led by Bain Capital's Asia Private Equity team, leveraging its global platform and local market knowledge, particularly in India, to scale the brands across emerging markets like MENA and China.

Bain Capital highlighted Vitabiotics' status as a trusted, science-led brand with category leadership and strong healthcare professional credibility. The company boasts well-known brands such as Pregnacare, Perfectil, and Osteocare. Bain Capital partners Pawan Singh and Rishi Mandawat emphasized the firm's resources will support innovation, e-commerce, and international distribution to build on the UK leadership and strengthen the global platform.

This transaction also marks a generational transition for the family business, founded in 1971 by Professor Kartar Lalvani. His son, Group Chief Executive Tej Lalvani, described the sale as an inflection point to accelerate the company's future growth with Bain Capital's expertise. Professor Lalvani will assume the honorary role of Chairman Emeritus upon completion, which is subject to regulatory approvals.
