St Mirren manager Craig McLeish faces a Scottish FA hearing over comments made after his side's 1-0 defeat by Dunfermline Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup on Sunday. The cup holders had a goal disallowed when Eseosa Sule was ruled to have fouled goalkeeper Aston Oxborough before Samuel Ramos fired into the net.

Two minutes before full-time, Dunfermline's Chris Kane scored from the penalty spot after Marcus Fraser was ruled to have fouled Keith Bray. St Mirren say they "will fully assess the notice before determining our next steps" but "will make no further comment at this time."

The St Mirren Mercury reported that McLeish insisted his televised remark regarding the referee was "tongue-in-cheek." Despite the loss, St Mirren still won their group, with Dunfermline progressing as runners-up. However, the defeat meant they were not seeded for the last-16 and were drawn away to Rangers.
