Welsh boxers are making a strong bid for gold at the Commonwealth Games, with Orlando Holley-Sotomi, Rosie Eccles, and Owain Harris-Allan securing medals. Holley-Sotomi delivered a stunning knockout in his quarter-final bout, showcasing a powerful backhand that sent his opponent to the canvas.

Eccles, the defending champion, also advanced by stopping her opponent in the second round of the women's 70kg category. Harris-Allan secured a unanimous points victory against a home favourite. These wins, along with super heavyweight Connor Williams, guarantee Wales at least a bronze medal.

The Welsh boxers will compete in the semi-finals on Friday, July 30, aiming to advance to the finals the following day and potentially upgrade their medal status. Four Welsh boxers are now in contention for gold medals.
