Bernard Arnault has appointed Aymeric Le Clere as chairman and CEO of Financière Agache, the €3.1bn capital holding vehicle anchoring the Arnault family's control of LVMH.

Le Clere, a graduate of École Polytechnique, has spent the past seven years at Financière Agache and serves as CFO of Christian Dior SE. His background includes nearly nine years at Natixis in equity transactions. He replaces Xavier Ollivier, 72, who held both roles since January 2013.

The appointment reflects intensified scrutiny over Arnault's succession planning. The Arnault family owns approximately 48% of LVMH's capital and 64% of voting rights, routed through Agache, which holds a 96% stake in Christian Dior SE, itself owning 42% of LVMH.

Recent transitions include Frédéric Arnault replacing Nicolas Bazire as managing director of Financière Agache in June 2024. The family's diversification extends beyond LVMH, with acquisitions including the Cap Estel hotel for $233m and a 70% stake in Paris FC via Red Bull.
