Celtic boss Martin O'Neill has been discharged from hospital following a small procedure, but there is no set timeline for his return to the dugout.

Assistant manager Shaun Maloney confirmed O'Neill will make the final decision on whether he travels to Sunday's match against Kilmarnock. 'Even for the game at the weekend, it's sort of day-to-day,' Maloney said. 'We saw him last night regarding preparation for the game and then he wasn't in today. I'll speak to him this afternoon and then he'll make a call for tomorrow.'

Maloney admitted it would feel strange stepping into O'Neill's role if required. 'We'll definitely miss him if he's not there, but you also have to respect what's happened over the last few days. The impact he's had since October has been incredible.'

No new signings are expected before Sunday's game, with transfer discussions remaining between O'Neill and chief executive Michael Nicholson. Despite interest in players like Arne Engels and Alistair Johnston, Maloney expects both to be available for selection.
