Shaun Maloney revealed that Celtic manager Martin O'Neill is out of hospital and in "good form" after undergoing a "small procedure" announced on Wednesday. The 74-year-old is day-to-day ahead of Sunday's Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, live on Sky Sports.

Maloney, O'Neill's assistant, visited him on Thursday night and said: "He got out of hospital yesterday. He was in good form last night, loads better than he was Monday, Tuesday. Hopefully those sort of positive feelings continue." He added there is no timeline, and the decision on whether O'Neill will be in the dugout will be made later.

"I'll speak to him this afternoon and then he'll make a call for tomorrow and then I'd imagine he'll make the call for the game at the weekend," Maloney said. "If it's this weekend, great, if it isn't, we'll prepare for it without him."

Celtic released a statement confirming the procedure, thanking supporters for their kind wishes and asking for privacy for O'Neill and his family.
