Buttler Form Boost from Trescothick Chat

Jos Buttler credits a conversation with England batting coach Marcus Trescothick for helping him rediscover his T20 form, which saw him break Kieron Pollard's all-time T20 run-scoring record. Buttler recorded a 20-ball 51 for Manchester Super Giants, marking his third score of 50 or more in four innings. The 35-year-old wicketkeeper-batter also recently smashed a 64-ball 131 in England's T20 victory over India at Southampton.

Despite struggling in the T20 World Cup earlier this year with an average of 10.87 from eight matches, Buttler's resurgence has made him the second-highest run scorer in this season's Hundred with 277 runs and 20 sixes. Trescothick advised Buttler to focus on technical adjustments, particularly his trigger movement and batting position, which allowed his mindset to improve. Former England opener Trescothick will also take interim charge of the Test side against Pakistan following Brendon McCullum's departure.

Buttler emphasized that technique and mindset are interconnected, noting his game has evolved significantly since he was 25.
