Spotify announced Reserved during its investor day, a new feature that reserves concert tickets for premium subscribers. The streaming platform aims to solve the frustrating ticket-buying experience where fans refresh endlessly only to miss out. Reserved uses listening activity, shares, and engagement data to identify an artist's most dedicated followers.

Through a multiyear partnership with Live Nation, select artists can set aside up to two tickets per fan identified as a superfan. Selected fans receive a day-long purchase window starting this summer in the US. Spotify acknowledges that demand will far exceed supply, with significantly more superfans than available seats.

The feature addresses growing fan frustration with current ticketing systems that favor bots and scalpers over genuine supporters. Alongside Reserved, Spotify unveiled Studio by Spotify Labs for personalized podcast creation and a new licensing agreement with UMG enabling AI-generated covers and remixes.

Reserved represents Spotify's push to deepen relationships with core users while creating new revenue streams beyond music streaming.
