Ron Gilbert announced that production has officially begun on Thimbleweed Park 2, with a targeted release window of early 2028. The sequel will be self-published with support from a private investor, maintaining creative control for the development team.

The original creative team is reuniting for the project. Mark Ferrari, Gary Winnick, David Fox, Octavi Navarro, and Robert Megone will all return to their respective roles. Gilbert plans to launch a dedicated development blog, posting regular updates throughout production just as he did for the first Thimbleweed Park.

While waiting for the sequel, the original Thimbleweed Park is currently discounted on Steam, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Google Play. The new title will launch simultaneously on Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms, with a GOG version also confirmed for release.
