Double Fine Productions has returned to independence after leaving Microsoft, launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund a game jam. Backers vote on 26 pitches, with four becoming prototypes and one evolving into a full small-scale game. 2 Player Productions will document the process, streamed on Twitch. A $100 million stretch goal promises Brütal Legend 2. The studio also ported Keeper to PS5 and reduced Kiln's price to $8.

Aggro Crab, buoyed by Peak revenue, is publishing select games via its label, prioritizing developer revenue sharing over recouping full investments. It rejects AI-generated content, stating, "I'm serious. We'll get your ass." Signed titles include Rebounder, a precision platformer from Thirty Three, and Subway Midnight.

Eric Barrone updated fans on Haunted Chocolatier, calling it his "most eager and driven" project despite delays. He emphasized quality over speed, noting, "I won't compromise on the game by rushing it."

New releases include Worming from Home, a remote work sim where players control a worm navigating office tasks. Developed by Zach Northrop and Mason Sabharwal, it's available on Steam at $10 (25% off until September 18).
