BBG Entertainment, the Munich-based publisher behind acclaimed remakes of BOULDER DASH, ASTROSMASH, and SHARK! SHARK!, is rebooting the classic platformer MANIC MINER for release this autumn on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, Windows, and Mac. Authorized by creator Matthew Smith, the reboot blends the 1983 original's charm with modern graphics, revamped controls, a new soundtrack, and an extensive archive. Unlike prior releases, this edition ensures Smith receives proper proceeds from every copy sold.

The game features two modes: Classic Mode with authentic pixel art and optional CRT TV filter, and Modern Mode with parallax scrolling and dynamic lighting. All 20 original levels are included, with controls overhauled for modern platforms while preserving the original's high difficulty. The soundtrack reimagines classical pieces by Johann Strauss and Edvard Grieg.
