Effective yesterday, Andrew and I decided to leave the Jellyfin project, myself as Project Leader and he as a core team member. This follows Andrew's resignation on Friday. We are handing over to the experienced core team that has steered the project for many years.

For me personally, it was time for a change. I could no longer provide the mental or time effort required, and burnout threatened my health. I stepped aside, with an ongoing, amicable hand‑off and clear communication. Jellyfin will continue for a long time without me at its head. When I started, I expected only a few hundred users; now 7.5 years later, it is the #1 FLOSS media server, serving literally millions of administrators and likely ten times that of individual users.

Anthony’s reasons differ. Though he rarely writes code now, he manages backend and app‑store affairs. After nearly 8 years, life changes demand other priorities. He commits to a smooth transition, even if it takes a year, and wishes Jellyfin success.
