فولفو تعزز البطارية لطرازات XC60 و XC90 الهجينة القابلة للشحن 2028، equipped with 37.9 kWh usable (41.2 kWh gross) battery pack. XC60 T8 now offers an EPA-estimated electric driving range of 78 miles (125 km), sufficient for three days of typical use based on Volvo’s data showing a median US driver commute of 22 miles (35 km) round-trip. With a full battery and full tank, the XC60 T8 can achieve up to 590 miles (949 km) of total range.

Production of the XC60 will expand to Volvo’s plant in South Carolina alongside its existing line in Sweden, responding to strong US demand and tariff incentives favoring local manufacturing. The XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid also receives the same larger battery, delivering an all-electric range of 73 miles (117 km). Both models feature a new Gemini-enabled infotainment system on an 11.2-inch screen.

Håkan Samuelsson, president & CEO at Volvo Cars, stated that the XC60 is Volvo’s bestselling model of all time and the XC90 marked the beginning of its premium journey, emphasizing that these long-range plug-in hybrids, alongside the all-electric EX60, form the company’s strongest-ever electrified offering in the mid-size SUV segment, supporting a path to full electrification for every customer.
