Zhitai, the consumer arm of YMTC, has rolled out the TiPlus 9100, its first PCIe 5.0 M.2 NVMe drive. Built on Xtacking 4.0 NAND, the slab targets gaming laptops, thin portables and desktop rigs. The line comes in 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB capacities, positioning it as a high‑end Gen 5 option.

The TiPlus 9100 ups speed with a new controller, delivering up to 12,000 MB/s sequential reads and 10,700 MB/s writes, while random throughput hits 1,850K IOPS. It omits a DRAM cache yet manages heat and power through firmware tuning, and its single‑sided PCB keeps it fit for slim chassis.

Pricing in mainland China starts at 1,459 yuan (≈$200) for the 1 TB model, 2,559 yuan for 2 TB and 4,999 yuan (≈$690) for 4 TB. Zhitai bundles health‑monitoring and migration tools, giving users control over performance and lifespan.

YMTC’s recent expansion plans add two new fabs, doubling monthly wafer output from 200,000 to roughly 400,000 once all three plants are online. The extra NAND supply should enable Zhitai to push the TiPlus 9100 aggressively, filling a gap for gamers and professionals seeking Gen 5 speeds without the bulk of older drives today.
