TerraMaster has announced the D1 SSD Pro, a fanless enclosure designed to convert M.2 NVMe SSDs into portable drives. It leverages 80 Gbps Thunderbolt 5 and USB4 V2 interfaces, supporting M.2-2280, -2242, and -2230 drives with a PCIe 4.0 x4 connection. While it meets Gen 5 electrical specs, its bandwidth is capped at Gen 4 x4 speeds.

The enclosure's extruded aluminum body acts as a heatsink for the Thunderbolt bridge chip and SSD, a notable feat for an 80 Gbps-class product. TerraMaster includes an 80 Gbps-certified USB-C cable and its TPC Backupper software for data backup and system imaging, leveraging its NAS expertise.
