Satechi has introduced the DotDisk, a compact M.2 NVMe enclosure featuring USB4 V2 connectivity with speeds up to 80 Gbps. The aluminum housing houses a single M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 drive supporting up to 8TB capacity. Unlike most compact enclosures, it includes active cooling with an integrated fan to prevent thermal throttling during sustained workloads.

The DotDisk offers broad compatibility with Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4 V2, and USB4 connections, making it versatile for modern Macs and PCs. Users get a Thunderbolt 5 cable and magnetic screwdriver in the box. The enclosure works with macOS Sonoma 14.6+, Windows 11, and Linux, though it cannot accommodate SSDs with heatsinks or smaller form factors like 2230/2242/2260.

Available now at satechi.com for $199.99 in silver and Space Black, the DotDisk represents Satechi's latest entry into the external SSD market. The company previously released products like the Mini NVMe SSD and Thunderbolt 5 CubeDock. While the price point is premium, the active cooling and high-speed capabilities offer tangible benefits for users needing reliable external storage performance.
