Nintendo's Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 sold out within minutes of preorders, with scalpers immediately listing it for $1,700 on eBay—up to three times the $520 retail price. The console launched through Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Amazon, all of which were out of stock almost instantly. Nintendo's own store also shows it sold out. eBay listings range from $700 to $1,700, with some sellers bundling extras like the Pro Controller and Ocarina of Time remake, despite Nintendo never offering these combos.

Buying all items directly from Nintendo costs about $720, making most bundles over double that. Nintendo previously blocked scalpers on the original Switch 2 by requiring 50 hours of logged playtime for preorders. No word yet if similar rules will apply to future restocks, but a gating system seems likely given how quickly this batch vanished.

The console ships October 29, ahead of the remake's November 5 release.
