At the 2026 DAC Chips to Systems Conference, Synopsys announced advancements in agentic AI for engineering with NVIDIA. The collaboration delivers fully autonomous, long-running agentic capabilities for chip and electronics system design using NVIDIA Nemotron on accelerated computing and secured by NVIDIA Open Shell runtime. Ravi Subramanian, Chief Product Management Officer at Synopsys, stated AI is reshaping engineering and the partnership combines domain expertise with advanced AI infrastructure.

Tim Costa, VP at NVIDIA, noted the future is agentic AI that reasons, plans, executes, and verifies across product development. Synopsys demonstrated a fully autonomous Design Verification workflow achieving 50X faster time-to-validated RTL with 20% improvement in coverage. Autonomous Analog & Mixed-Signal workflows accelerate design closure by 3X using natural language intent.

A fully autonomous CAE workflow for thermal analysis using Ansys Icepak and Py AEDT executes simulation in a fraction of traditional time. Synopsys offers over 20 GPU-enabled EDA products: Prime Sim SPICE up to 18X faster, Quantum ATK up to 50X for quantum chemistry and 200x for force field simulations, Ansys Lumerical FDTD 10X speedup. Availability planned for second half of 2026.
