Synology FlashStation FS6420: New All-Flash Storage

Synology has launched the FlashStation FS6420, enhancing its all-flash enterprise storage line. This new server is engineered for demanding applications such as virtual machine storage, file synchronization, and hosting business applications, offering significant throughput.

Susan Yen, Product Manager at Synology, stated, "The FS6420 meets the increasing need for fast, responsive storage in data-intensive environments." The device integrates NAS and SAN functionalities, providing a unified and adaptable storage solution. It boasts over 929,000 4K random read IOPS and 257,000 4K random write IOPS, with dual 10GbE ports and support for optional 25GbE or Fiber Channel adapters.

Key features for business continuity include out-of-band management, network failover, redundant power supplies, and high-availability clustering. The FS6420 runs on Disk Station Manager (DSM), offering features like Synology Virtual Machine Manager, Container Manager, Synology Tiering for cost optimization, and Synology Drive for private cloud capabilities. The FS6420 will be available from July 29, 2026.
