Synology unveiled two new all‑flash storage arrays, the FS6420 and FS3420, aimed at latency‑sensitive enterprise workloads. Both are 24‑bay, 2U rack units that promise dramatically higher IOPS for on‑prem virtualization, databases and file‑intensive applications, targeting mid‑size and large enterprises seeking low‑latency SSD performance. Availability begins May 6, 2026 through the company’s global reseller network.

The FS6420 delivers over 929,000 read and 257,000 write IOPS, a 40% and 26% uplift versus its predecessor, while the FS3420 reaches 478,000 read and 169,000 write IOPS, improving read by 21% and write by 32%. Both models boost SMB read throughput by 60% and ship with 10GbE ports, or 25GbE or Fibre Channel. The built‑in 10GbE also supports failover and load balancing, eliminating single points of failure.

Running on Synology’s DiskStation Manager, the arrays integrate tiered storage, Active Backup for Business and Snapshot Replication, giving enterprises granular restore points and VM protection. Redundant power supplies and failover‑enabled networking aim for uninterrupted uptime in mid‑size to large data centers and colocation sites. Such features help meet strict RPO and RTO objectives for critical apps. The launch reinforces Synology’s push into high‑performance on‑prem storage.
