Silicon Labs has announced the BG2B, its next Series 2 Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) wireless SoC. This platform is engineered to help developers build smaller, more secure, and longer-lasting battery-powered IoT devices by providing the industry's best combination of power efficiency and security.

As Bluetooth LE applications evolve toward secure ranging and location awareness, the BG2B addresses these demands with its lowest-power architecture to date. It features a dual-output DC-DC power architecture and a multicore design, delivering a 1.1 µA EM2 sleep current with RAM retention. This represents a significant improvement over previous Silicon Labs models.

Beyond efficiency, the BG2B supports advanced Bluetooth Channel Sounding and integrates peripherals like CAN-FD, LED drivers, and dual ADCs. Designed for applications such as asset tracking and vehicle diagnostics, it incorporates Secure Vault technology to protect device identity and sensitive data, helping manufacturers prepare for evolving cybersecurity requirements like the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
