Espressif Systems announced the ESP32-S31, a dual-core RISC-V System-on-Chip (SoC) integrating Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and Ethernet for next-gen IoT applications. The ESP32-S31 combines Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) in the 2.4 GHz band with Bluetooth 5.4, offering LE Audio, direction finding, and Bluetooth Mesh 1.1. Its dual-core 32-bit RISC-V processor at 320 MHz includes a 128-bit SIMD data path for parallel processing, 512 KB SRAM, and support for 250 MHz DDR PSRAM.

The SoC features a 1000 Mbps Ethernet MAC, 61 GPIO pins, and peripherals like USB OTG, TWAI, and hardware-accelerated multimedia tools. Security is bolstered by hardware-based encryption, secure boot, and a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) for multi-application isolation. Designed for smart speakers, industrial automation, and edge AI, the ESP32-S31 leverages Espressif's ESP-IDF and ESP-Matter frameworks.

Its compatibility with Matter over Wi-Fi and Thread radio positions it as a versatile solution for connected devices requiring robust wireless and processing capabilities.
