Quectel Wireless Solutions and MediaTek have unveiled a next-generation intelligent CPE reference design at MWC 2026, integrating 5G-Advanced and Wi-Fi 8 technologies. The solution leverages MediaTek's T930 platform with 4nm process technology, combining 5G-A connectivity with advanced network processing capabilities for both residential and enterprise applications.

The design addresses the evolving Fixed Wireless Access market by moving beyond basic connectivity to deliver intelligent, scenario-based experiences. Quectel's RG660MK series modules power the solution, which incorporates 3GPP Release 18-compliant 5G-A modem technology. The partnership aims to create a core network hub for future smart homes and digital enterprises, responding to market demands for differentiated connectivity solutions.

Powered by 8Rx and 3Tx 5L technologies, the reference design achieves 40% better 5G coverage and cell-edge efficiency. Wi-Fi 8 features including Coordinated Spatial Reuse and dynamic spectrum management boost device throughput by up to 80%. A built-in NPU enables edge intelligence for autonomous optimization and local voice interaction, transforming the network into an intelligent platform capable of supporting 8K streaming, VR/AR applications, and industrial IoT deployments.
