Samsung Electronics unveiled the P9 and P7 portable SSDs featuring USB4 connectivity at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. The P9 delivers up to 4,000 MB/s read and 3,800 MB/s write speeds, twice the performance of the previous generation, and is the world’s first 8 TB USB4 portable SSD. It supports 12K direct recording for professional workflows and won a CES 2026 Innovation Award.

The P7 offers fast, versatile storage for everyday use with broad compatibility and durability tested via 2-meter drop and shock/vibration testing. Both models launch globally on Aug. 31 in 1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB, and 8 TB capacities. P9 MSRPs range from $339.99 to $2,699.99; P7 from $289.99 to $2,289.99.
