Counterpoint Research's Global Memory Tracker for Q2 2026 shows South Korean makers dominate DRAM revenue. Samsung leads with 39% of global DRAM revenue, part of a combined 65% held by Samsung and SK hynix. The South Korean giant resolved manufacturing issues, and its foundry performed strongly, widening the gap with rivals.

SK hynix holds about 26% of revenue, down from 39% in Q2 2025 despite a 214% YoY revenue increase. Its long‑term customer agreements with predetermined pricing aim to smooth volatility. Micron follows with 25% share and a fivefold revenue jump from Q2 2025, positioning it to challenge SK hynix.

Emerging players show explosive growth: CXMT posted a 716% annual increase and now commands 7% of global DRAM revenue, while Nanya grew 690%. These gains could reshape the market if sustained.

SK hynix was the first to implement long‑term agreements with customers, where price volatility is predetermined. This strategy involves encouraging customers into multi‑year agreements rather than capitalizing on short‑term price fluctuations.
