Gaming peripheral maker Pulsar has launched an AI-powered tool called Pulsar Playground that addresses a fundamental issue in gaming mice: finding the right fit. The company has long maintained that "shape is king" when it comes to mouse performance, arguing that shell design and hand compatibility matter more than sensors or connectivity alone.

Playground uses AI image recognition to analyze hand size and shape, then combines those measurements with questions about grip style and gaming requirements to recommend suitable mice. The system aims to solve the common problem of gamers struggling to find peripherals that feel natural in their hands, which can directly impact aim precision and comfort during extended sessions.

Currently available in beta at Korean retail locations, including Pulsar's Seoul flagship store, the tool represents a shift toward personalized hardware recommendations. The company hints at future improvements that could automatically detect grip style, potentially eliminating manual input requirements.

This approach could influence how other peripheral manufacturers think about customer fit, moving beyond generic sizing charts toward individualized solutions. While smartphone camera integration hasn't been confirmed, the technology suggests a path toward accessible, at-home fitment tools.
