NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Rolls Out for All RTX GPUs

NVIDIA has officially released DLSS 4.5 for all GeForce RTX GPUs, including older RTX 20, 30, and 40 series cards. The update introduces enhanced image quality through a second-generation Transformer-based AI model, trained on a larger dataset with FP8 precision.

This update brings support for over 400 games using DLSS Super Resolution and 250 titles with multi-frame generation. Users can easily enable it via the NVIDIA App, selecting from recommended presets tailored to different performance modes. RTX 50 series users gain exclusive access to 6x frame generation, while older cards remain limited to 2x or 4x.

The broader impact lies in NVIDIA's commitment to backward compatibility, extending top-tier upscaling to nearly seven-year-old hardware. This keeps older GPUs relevant amid rising resolution and performance demands, especially in new AAA titles and ray-traced environments.

Industry observers note that this move increases pressure on AMD and Intel to match similar long-term support. Gamers are advised to test presets carefully, especially on pre-RTX 40 hardware where FP8 support is lacking and performance impact may be higher.
