Intel unveiled its first Arc G3‑based gaming handhelds at Computex 2026, marking the company’s push into a market dominated by Nvidia‑powered devices. The new SoCs derive from the Panther Lake architecture and pair Coyote Cove and Darkmont CPU cores with a Xe3 “Celestial” iGPU. Arc G3 Extreme packs a 2P+8E+4LPE configuration and 12 Xe cores, ready for XeSS, XeLL and XeFG for gamers.

Three partner models demonstrated the chipset’s potential. OneXPlayer 3 runs the Arc G3 Extreme, delivering desktop‑class frame rates in an 8‑inch form factor. MSI’s Claw 8 EX AI+ and Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 also sport the new silicon, offering balanced CPU‑GPU performance for AAA titles on the go in real world. Early impressions suggest power efficiency comparable to existing handhelds.

Intel’s entry could reshape handheld competition by giving OEMs a native Intel graphics stack and XeSS upscaling. With the Arc G3 series already supporting the full Xe software suite, developers can target a wider range of devices without relying on external GPUs. Intel’s handheld push signals a broader strategy to capture market share beyond traditional PC and data‑center segments in 2026.
